The Queen needs a cunning plan. "Aaah!". A puppet appears transforming the Queen into a witch who commands a hat. She asks her magic mirror "Has it worked?"

The mad jealous Queen's thoughts become murderous. She thinks of the game CLUEDO. The characters Miss Scarlett, Reverend Green, Mrs Peacock, Colonel Mustard and their notorious weapons inspire her to imagine ways of killing her victim.
Her wacky ideas whirl into dropping an atomic warhead. Not wishing to bloody her hands she chooses to poison an apple.

The lyric is also influenced by Elizabeth Barrett Browning's poem 'How do I love thee, let me count the ways' (c.1812).
